3. Dissolving Peeps
Many kids like to munch on Peeps during the spring season, but those cute bunnies and chicks also make for a perfect science experiment.
Take a cue from Gift of Curiosity‘s spring STEM activity and discover what will happen if you try to dissolve these sugary candies in different liquids. They used water, vinegar, and soda, but you can also try seltzer, cleaning solution, and other ideas students may have. Have pupils guess what will happen when a Peep is placed in each liquid over different time periods, like one hour, 24 hours, and 48 hours. Then check back for results!
Students will practice their data collection and data analysis skills while thinking about solubility and other chemistry concepts, making this one of the sweetest spring STEM activities around!
