4. Reveal Different STEM Career Paths
When students ask, “When will we ever use this?” during STEM lessons, teachers must be confident and ready to inform them that knowledge of these subjects will one day be useful. Don’t wait for students to discover the applications of STEM skills one day on their own. Devote time each week to a discussion of one STEM job, including how students can purse that career path. Invite professionals to visit class for a discussion regarding their job and reasons it is integral to this career that students build STEM skills.
