5. Bring Back the Fun with STEM Toys

Research STEM toys online, then create a wish list for your classroom and share it with parents. If you are lucky enough to receive some of your requested items, use them! Give students a chance to explore with them before you do any structured activity. Let their creativity and ideas guide you. Talk with your students about the many fun STEM toys that are out there, and encourage them to ask for these toys instead of their typical gift suggestions around birthdays and holidays. Whether they request a beginner’s microscope, introductory entomology kit, or erector set, special occasions can be fun and educational.
