Students feed off of you and your energy in the classroom. If you treat math as an exciting and worthwhile subject, they will, too! Many elementary school teachers have math anxiety because they never received any math-specific training, and that math anxiety can transfer to their students.
Approach fractions just like any other numbers. Talk about proofs as solving a puzzle. Show your students ways math can make their lives easier. Prove that you love math, and your students will, too.
